Mourinho: Manchester Derby More Than Me And Guardiola
The focus in the upcoming Manchester derby is not on Jose Mourinho or Pep Guardiola, but on the team and the the Portuguese is for this.
The rival managers shared a toxic rivalry when they were in Spain, with Mourinho coaching Real Madrid and Guardiola coaching Barcelona.
The same relationship was expected this season, with the Portuguese in charge at United and the Spaniard at City.
Both teams started the srasonseason quite well and City won the first match 2-1, but the story is not the same, as they’re both fighting for a spot in Europe.
A win for United will see Mourinho’s men move to fourth on the table and City dropping to fifth.
“I see that now is the correct approach and the previous one wasn’t,” he told Sky Sports, reflecting upon early season hype.
“This is about the clubs, this is about the teams, this is about the positions at the end of the season.
“This is not about myself and Guardiola, so I think now is the correct approach.”
