Nigerian football club Kwara United's team bus was involved in an accident in the early hours of Wednesday, January 10.
Busy Buddies Nigeria report that the accident took place along Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
No deaths were recorded but some of the players sustained injuries and they have been taken to the hospital for treatment.
“There was no loss of lives. Nobody died, we have the case of five people sustaining series of injuries,” Gbenga Akinola, the team's physiotherapist, told The Cable.
“Everything is under control, hopefully all will be well.
“I won’t like to disclose the names of those injured for I am still in shock over the incident.”
NAIJ.com understands the team were leaving Lagos to return to Ilorin following the conclusion of the Bet9ja NNL Super 4 tournament in Lagos.
