Nigerian Entrepreneur Ti Okechukwu Reflects on His Journey from Nollywood to Crypto Success

Ti Okechukwu, born Theoder Innocent Okechukwu, has made significant strides in the world of technology and entrepreneurship, transitioning from a Nollywood actor to a successful crypto exchange founder. In an exclusive interview, Okechukwu shared insights into his remarkable journey and the driving forces behind his ventures.

Okechukwu, originally from Numan LGA in Adamawa State, Nigeria, began his career in Nollywood in 2013. His roles in films such as "The Changer" and "Searching For Mercy," alongside notable actors like Chinwetalu Agu and Regina Daniels, marked his early acting career. However, his passion for business led him to pivot into the music industry in 2017, and later, to technology and finance.

In 2019, Okechukwu founded "Inflowchange," an offline crypto exchange based in Kyiv, Ukraine. The venture was intended to support his studies in Information & Technology. By 2021, he transitioned Inflowchange to an online platform, rebranding it as "Inflowbit." However, the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2024 prompted him to relocate the company back to Nigeria.

"I don't like working for anyone; I love my free time and venturing into profitable ventures," Okechukwu explained. "What inspired my current business is my early involvement in crypto since 2011. My deep knowledge of crypto and admiration for figures like Changpeng Zhao and Tony Elumelu motivated me to create my own platform."

Okechukwu attributes his entrepreneurial spirit to Changpeng Zhao, the founder of Binance, whom he cites as his biggest motivation. Although he lacks formal mentors, Zhao’s influence has been profound.

"My key driving force has always been to keep growing financially and improving my social status," Okechukwu said. "From running an offline exchange to transitioning online, the experiences gathered have significantly shaped me into the leader I am today."

Despite the success of Inflowbit, which now boasts over 40,000 customers, Okechukwu has faced considerable challenges, including Nigeria’s crypto ban. "The crypto ban in Nigeria frustrated us, but we adapted to overcome the obstacles set by the government," he noted.

Among his proudest achievements is the ability to provide jobs through his business. "Transparency and reliability are the core values that guide my business," he added. His leadership style is described as "flexible with necessary tolerance."

Outside of his business endeavors, Okechukwu is involved in philanthropic activities under the Facebook page "@indiscov." He maintains a balance between work and personal life by dedicating his free time to business improvement and exercise.

Okechukwu also shared that "Ti Okechukwu" is an abbreviation of his full name, Theoder Innocent Okechukwu. His journey from actor to tech entrepreneur highlights a dynamic career shaped by adaptability and a relentless pursuit of success.
